High containment plant for russian customer, JSC "Phamasyntez-nord"

The manufacturing of anticancer drugs is a niche area, but that requires particular attention: containment risk analysis, high quality equipment and proper selection, are necessary to avoid the cross-contamination of other products and to guarantee safety of the operators.

For an important Russian pharmaceutical company, JSC "PHARMASYNTEZ-NORD", Cos.Mec has recently finished the design and manufacturing of a complete plant for handling, granulation and mixing process in High Containment OEB 5 (a section of the plant in the photo).

It is composed of a vibrosiever, glove box with active split valve, bins with passive split valves, bin weighing station, bin lifting columns, High Shear Mixer, cone mill, Fluid Bed Dryer, pneumatic transfer system, skid for washing, bin mixer and further accessories for the production of batch size between 12 and 30 kilograms.

An interesting feature of the plant consists in the possibility to have multiple manufacturing process flows, bypassing some machines, in compliance with the processing steps requested by specific drug.
